Quick Observation
Toured up east peak shoulder today. Topped out around 2170m. HS varied from 195-115cm. Very windy and snowing hard all day. Winds mostly coming from the south but variable. Dug a hasty pit (NNE, 2150m) on our first lap and didn't observe any consolidation of storm snow yet, all dry and loose. But did observe a subtle breakable crust about 25 down. Could be a slippery bed surface once this storm snow consolidates. The ice crust is sufficiently buried ~50 down. On our second lap we descended the East shoulder (scoured and bumpy as usual) and observed some more slab-like properties: shooting cracks and micro-slab releases.
