After a significant wind and snow event on the 19/04, lots of natural avalanches had already started by the time we woke in Balfour hut at 6am. Most of what we saw were 0.5-1.5 loose slides from steep NE rocky terrain, some releasing wind slabs below and stepping down. We witnessed a size one loose in the steep slope above the crux on Balfour col at 7.30am. We also experienced whoomfing on flat/low angle S facing terrain. Travelling out from Bow hut around 1pm on the 20/4 we saw many wet loose point releases on north to south aspects around the tree line.
