Poor avy and driving conditions cancelled Plan A, so Plan B ended up being laps of Storm Firebreak. Coverage on the firebreak is pretty good, still some rocks to hit though with an average snow depth of ~60cm. Looks as if the recent storms have tripled snow depth in a short amount of time at this elevation. A ~5cm crust exists at the base that is faceting out into large grains that are almost looking like depth hoar. Above this crust, there is distinct 10cm layer of large facets producing easy ECTP shears. 45cm of F-4F snow on top of this makes for good riding.
Tons of whumpfing as we broke trail up. No wind effect noted in the snow, but some cracking off the skis. We were suprised to find no tracks there when we arrived, now there are lots, sorry!
