Snowpack
Weak snow exists on all the slopes that we traveled on today. Highly variable; as you moved, change was noticed every 6 feet, where you could be supported on a crust or easily break through into "ball bearing" like facets. Any slab body that we found was mostly comprised of 2-3 mm facets amongst the quick snowpits dug. ECT's did not support propogation, CT and shear tests gave way to moderate-hard scores with mostly broken and stubborn shears. The failure planes were found roughly 30cm down at the base of the faceted mid-pack slab (E&N), and near the ground at some test sites. A handful of percolation tubes were found as well on both east and west closer to 10.5k. Height of snow averaged 40-50cm on east and west aspects, while due north held 50-60cm. Ski pen varied but up to 20cm, while boot pen was often achieved to ground.
