40 cm of recent snow has made for excellent skiing at the Icefields. It's still November so a few rocks were still hit but overall the skiing is quite good for this time of year.
We observed numerous dry loose avalanches in the area up to size 2 out of steep terrain. The only slab avalanche we saw was a size 2 below Son of Snowdome.
We dug two snow pits at treeline. Both had resistant planer shears underneath the new snow. Other than that the snowpack generally gets denser with depth.
There were moderate to strong winds in the alpine creating new windslabs.
