Storm Skiing Auntie Pearl's Run

Lizard Range and Flathead , Monday 3rd January, 2022 4:15PM

Played safe today and skied sheltered BTL. Minimal wind affect made the recent storm snow/sluff a pleasure to ski. The uptrack is still challenging due to alder-cation.

Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Cloudy, Stormy, Windy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes. Riding quality was good.

Avalache Conditions: Slab avalanches today or yesterday. 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours.


Moderate winds observed at ridgetop and open bowls.


Very-Soft Slab reactive to Ski Cutting. Natural Loose Dry observed out of steep/cliffy features.
