Ruedi's NE, Molars SE and N, Repeater ENE
Meshwell Boschmann , Monday 29th March, 2021 7:15PM
Widespread natural avalanche cycle to SZ 3 on N, NE, E and SE aspects in the last 24 hours. Most notably, Ruedi's and Molars Ridge N aspect had widespread SZ 1-2. Dogteeth SE aspect few SZ 2-2.5. Repeater ENE aspect SZ 3 (less than 12 hrs old). Fresh wind affect was evident on the crossloaded fans of Ruedi's North and Molars North. While the wind was strong from the S yesterday, it had shifted to moderate to strong from the W and NW today. We managed to find excellent non wind affected boot top powder on the lees of that wind mayhem, i.e. N (lower treeline and below), NE, E and SE. We did not venture in the above treeline since the upper treeline was already showing lots of wind affect. Ski penetration varied from 20 to 30cm.
Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Cloudy, Cold, Sunny, Windy. We rode: Convex slopes, Open trees, Steep slopes, Sunny slopes. We avoided: Alpine slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Slab avalanches today or yesterday. 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours.
