Snow conditions were: Heavy, Powder, Wind affected. We rode: Alpine slopes, Dense trees, Open trees. Riding quality was amazing.
Snowpack
Observed more than isolated heavily wind loaded and eroded features in the alpine accompanied by large overhanging cornices on North-Northwest aspects. 2-3m Cracking patterns were observed from a 20cm after crossing over into a windslab that had formed on a Northwest facing slope at around 1700m. Up to this point no other signs of instability were observed following the Northwest route from Chance Creek FSR to the ridge at 1700m. Immediately turned around and skied safer slopes.
