The morning was sunny and warm. Skin wax was useful at lower elevations and ski crampons on steeper solar mid elevations. Booting packing was not that great because you would break through the crust and sink in wet snow.
Moraine skied quite good. Lower,in the trees we found 10 cm of soft settlement/wind slab on the crust that was hooky mixed in with surface crust which made for tough skiing. We had cracking up to 3m on soft slab on the crust from two days ago.
At lower elevations it was 10 cm of wet snow on the crust which skied good.
We did not need to cross over any avalanche debris. A few other parties going up and back down lookout col where you can easily avoid Avi debris. A few cm in the afternoon from convective flurries.
