Observed at least one older avalanche and a more recent avalanche that was likely a Wet Slab on Mendicant Ridge.
Weather
Partly cloudy and cool in the morning, becoming windy and overcast in the afternoon. Light rain moved over the higher peaks around 5PM.
Snowpack
There is still a slab-over-weak-layer structure on slopes facing the north half of the compass. The slab is about 60-80cm thick on most slopes and 1F to P hard (on the hand hardness scale) with the weak layer of well-developed but rounding facets ranging from F to 4F hard. The average height of snow (HS) around Black Mesa and Bald Mountain was around 120-180cm on north-facing slopes and much more variable, but around 60-100cm on south-facing slopes with many patches of bare ground from wind scouring and melting.
