6cm of fresh snow on top of slush and ice in the parking lot at 10am. Low down off the trail, a soft weak crust topped the snowpack but was supportive to skis. Isothermal underneath with two other weak crusts present.
As we gained elevation the crust become harder/icier. Dust on crust skiing in Paget glades. In case yo have ever wondered, yes it can avalanche in the normal Paget glades area. A size 2 slab from a day or two ago with a crown in steeper/rocky terrain that ran 70m wide down about 150m through the trees that are typically skied (where the hiking trail switchbacks a couple of times).
Multiple avalanches from recent storm cycle hitting down to the lake off Ogden covering most of the Ogden bench area. Although the top of the areas typically skied here have not yet avalanched (see photo) so buyer beware.
Snow on/by the lake was noticeably much less isothermal than in the glades, but still heavy moisture content down to 50cm. Supportive-ish to travel on foot (unlike the glades)
On return the sun was firing hard and the dust on S/SW slopes were getting sticky and the weaker crust lower down losing strength.
The trail still has as much snow as I have ever seen on it - too bad the skiing was poor.
