Quick Observation

Went up black prince at around 930. The ascent was variable, ranging from bulletproof to soft. The existing skintrack had melted, making the skin up challenging in places. When we were up top, around noon, the sun started to break through, intermittently. Descending, we followed the gully on skiers right which felt solid. Just enough soft snow up top to hold an edge. About half way down, the sun was stronger and the snow turned into solid spring conditions. As we got to the bottom, it was significantly warmer and the snow was a slushy mess. I wasn't sure how much of the change in snow conditions were due to solar, elevation, of a mix of both. Either way, with more sun, it felt like the perfect time to be heading home. We could see signs of recent we avalanches all around but nothing from today.
