Skied E to N aspects alpine to below treeline. Controlled a sz 1 fridge size cornice with little effort. Few natural cornice falls in the last 48 hrs mostly triggering isolated softslabs. Cornices have grown huge with the recent precip, moderate SW wind and warm temperatures. Stuck to features that typically see a lot of traffic, i.e. more old tracks/roughness, to mitigate for the March 8 (?) PWL. Could still feel a good drop 30-40cm down while probing with my poles, especially on north facing alpine features. Solar aspects are a multi-layered cake of suncrusts and stormslabs way up into the alpine. East facing had moist snow/temperature crusts below 1900m on everything that has seen the slightest sun. Due north facing holds the best snow. Globstopper season is on!
