Avalanche triggered approx 3 turns down into the chute. The chute is a west facing aspect. Crown approx 20 cm and width was approx 2/3rds the width of the chute. Likely wind deposit from overnight strong winds. Wind affected snow also observed along the traverse (east facing aspect) to the chute entrance with minor sluffing initiated when traversing.
dropped into the chute and did a small ski cut. snow appeared stable. after commencing the run after 3 turns shooting cracks observed. Was able to cut skiers left out of the initial trigger area. As i cut left, the shooting cracks propagated further, but was able to get far enough to the left to get out of it. Waited until immediate danger had passed and continued the run. 2nd member of the grouped dropped in after i had excited the chute and minor sluffing was observed.
