Quick report

No signs of instability, snow appeared well settled. Some snow sluffs occured when stepping on very wet rocks. Snow began consistently at 4300' on S and E aspects. Depth slowly increased to about a foot by 5600'. Depth varied from 1 to 1.5 feet above that depending on local terrain features. Snowshoes advisable above 5600' on these aspects. Small unreactive wind drifts on E and N aspects. Even with snowshoes you basically go all the way to the ground, which is particularly annoying on the scree fields. Some old 2' roller balls probably from Thur/Fri that gouged all the way to the ground
