Stevens Peak

Significantly less weekend snow observed at Stevens Peak today compared to recent days only a few miles away. Only an inch of low density snow was here, over a thin crust with weak facets under it. Several weak faceted layers within the top 1/3 of the snowpack that could be problematic with additional loading.

A cool NE breeze into mid-afternoon prevented significant warming of surface snow, but wasn't strong enough to move the limited snow available for transport.
