Quick report

This morning's cloud cover unexpectedly cleared, leaving us with mostly sunny skies during our tour. Sunny SE-S aspects started to soften by 10:30 am and had about an inch of soft, wet snow on them by 11:30 am. Below the surface, a thick (~6 inches) melt-freeze crust sat on top of about 1 to 2 ft of softer wet snow. The surface wet snow remained shallow, and we did not see any signs of wet loose instabilities by the time we left the area around noon. We also ventured into north-facing terrain and found a mix of snow conditions, including wind-scoured firm snow, uneven wind-affected snow, thin breakable crusts, and some patches of shallow soft snow.
