Quick report
Dug in the upper part of the west fork of the Cold Creek Drainage, above the Powerline trail in South Lake. NW aspect at 9130', with an HS of 143 cm. Strong middle and upper snowpack, with weak snow persisting on the ground. The depth hoar at the bottom of the snowpack was showing signs of rounding, but was still weak and capable of producing propagation, albeit requiring a significant trigger. Crusts in the snowpack here were not as stout as I have found in other locations nearby at lower elevations.
