Quick report
- Cracking
- specific
Toured WP backcountry to Shoe Lake. On East facing slopes we noticed some cracking while skinning. NE slopes were definitely wind loaded with obvious contours. Hand pits on N and NW slopes seemed to show the new snow bonding well with the early Feb crust. NE and E slopes had significant wind slab that seemed reactive while N and NW slopes seemed to be spared. Pics shows wind contours on NE aspect of a peak that is W of Shoe Lake (sorry, I don't know the name, el6600). Other pic cracking on an East aspect at about 6500ft.
