Saddle Mountain and Stateline Yurt

Yesterday, 12/28/25, we splitboarded the NE-ish arm of Saddle Mountain (the N facing low angle pitch with thick trees). N and NNW aspects showed no signs of slabbing and new snow was interfacing well with the snowpack. On a section of E facing terrain near the summit that I could safely access, there was a significant failure that occurred approx 35 cm down in a hand pit. Our findings on the E facing aspect were consistent with what we expected to find based on the prevailing winds over the previous 24 hours, as well as the forecast.

On the way back to the yurt, we saw a crown on an E facing ridgeline directly to our west. 

The base depth on the SE corner of the deck at the Stateline Yurt was 145 cm.
