Quick report
There is about 1.5' new snow on the glacier. It seems like 4" in the last day over 1' of older snow that at lower elevations was capped with a thin crust (ski but not boot supportive). The more recent 2-4" has little wind effect which may obscure older drifts and scouring. I did not notice wildly different depths when skinning up the glacier, however. The surface was moist even to Deming saddle 9100' although at that elevation snow below was dry. As I biked and hiked in it was drizzling, snow was soaked up to about 7000', but above there the cloud layer ended. Good skiing down to maybe 7k where it got punchy, wet, and grabby. Another skier went to the summit and reported good skiing on the roman wall and pumice ridge. With all this new snow and drastic warming in the forecast, I would be on the lookout for wet loose, wet slab, and potentially dry slab concerns at the highest elevs.
