Quick report
Continuing documentation of the truly impressive avalanche cycle that occurred on Christmas eve into Christmas. I can only remember one cycle that rivaled this in the past 10 years. No cracking, no collapsing. If you close your eyes to the myriad D3 natural avalanches and don't dig, it "feels pretty good out there".

A truly impressive avalanche cycle occurred in the Boulder mountains. Based on my direct observations of triggered and natural avalanches, snowpack, weather, and weather station data, the heart of this cycle focused on 12/24 and early morning 12/25. Activity may have continued 12/26, but I have less confidence in that. It is difficult to assess timing, but the best evidence comes from direct visits to crowns, bed surfaces, and debris piles. I'm mostly focusing my database efforts on avalanches in my near vicinity - JP and the good folks at SVHS have done a good job documenting the Smoky activity that is visible from afar. Thanks all, we learn a lot watching these events happen, and we can save some of that learning for later with thorough documentation!
