Snowpack

We went from zero to hero in a matter of 24 hrs. By 9 am my partner and I observed 45-50 cm of new snow resting on the 11/30 MFcr interface. At lower elevations, this new snow is falling on bare ground. On my drive up towards Timberline, I noted small dry loose avalanches initiating on steep road cuts.

West winds were strong and drifting large amounts of snow onto leeward slopes. Test slopes reliably produced  long shooting cracks.

Despite all the new snow, low- tide conditions kept us on our toes on our descent.
