Quick report
This afternoon, while snowmobiling and touring, there were no signs of instability and no avalanches observed. Visibility to nearby slopes was limited. There was a breakable raincrust 2-3 cm below the surface at 7800' and below. The test result showed that while the 12/5 layer was stubborn, a weak layer was still present.

Overcast skies this afternoon with precipitation in the form of graupel on top of the new 2 to 3 cms of new snow. Winds were light and out of the NE this afternoon.
Snowpack
Dug a pit on a SE aspect at 8100' HS 90-95cm, ECTP30 on 12/5 weak layer approximately 70 to 75cm down. This is the primary layer of concern identified in this pit; however, as you can see, this snowpack was quite stubborn in this location. One thing of note, there was a rain crust below 2 to 3cm on new snow below 7800'.
