Good day out there, superb snow quality above 1000m with 10+cm of cold, dry snow overlaying the previous days storm snow. Below 1000m varying surfaces of melt freeze crusts and unconsolidated snow on top of wet, heavy and grabby snow.

Large storm slab observed in Thunder Bowl. Seems to have released during the storm cycle.

Dug two pits at similar elev (1180, 1160) on a E and SW aspects. No dogs 1160m E asp CT 15 SC down 40cm on MF CT 17 SC down 40cm on MF Top of cats 1180 m W asp CT 20 SP down 45cm on needles and rimed stellars 2-3mm CT 20 SP down 45cm on needles and rimed stellars 2-3mm Obvious density change here Snow above this layer is 1F and this 1-2cm thick layer is 4F.
