Quick Observation

A mixed bag today in Phantom Couloir for both snow and weather. Started cold at the parking lot (-25C) but by Odgen Shoulder could have been in base layers. Once in the shade and heading up the couloir it was insanely cold. I was bootpacking in 2 down jackets and couldn't get warm. Snow is a random mix too. One turn beautiful surface facets, next turn hard grabby wind slab. The couloir had surface facets over a dried out breakable wind slab, a real "treat" in terrain you don't want to fall in. The stability is great, the turns bad and you need to stay in the sun in order not freeze to death! They really need to add "surface facets" to the snow conditions options at this point.
