Kent Ridge snowshoe

Given the modest HS, decided to snowshoe instead of going for core shots and sliding down cheese graters while skiing. Went up Kent Ridge via Sawmill. HS ranged from 30cm at parking lot to 50+cm on the ridge. Snow ranged from unconsolidated powder (in dense shade) to 5cm sun crust sitting on top of unconsolidated powder. Glad we didn't bring the skis as we would've punched through all over the place. Saw a few parties hitting Hero's across the valley - looked filled in in the upper bowl but pretty scarce and sketchy up the gully. A few loose wet observed and one nice size 2 slab from probably 2+ days ago off one of the steep peaks behind Hero's (East facing). It was quite warm on our way down and snow was quite wet. Conditions will likely deteriorate further over the long weekend.
