Caribou couloirs

Skied the lookers right couloir from the top of caribou mountain. Skiing in the lower third was quite good with 5 cm ski pen. Middle third had been cleaned up by small slides and the upper third had a lot of rime and a wind pillow beside a steep fin of rock which we managed to ski cut on the descent and had a slab of about 20cm by 5m by 2m come out.
Winds at ridge were strong to extreme and we had to hunker down to make sure we didn’t get blown away during our transition.
Skiing throughout was consistent but firm. The approach in was ok to skin but to tight to ski so we walked much of the way back to the road
Also managed a pretty good sun burn on the south aspect in mid day heat. No moist snow on the surface but feels like that day may come soon!
