Today in the wolverine riding area we had a very wet day with rain down below 1200m and as we got higher around 1300m it turned to snow but didn’t last very long. We had strong winds blowing all day from the west. We dug our pit on a North facing aspect at 1300m on a 32 degree incline. Total HS was 170cm, air temp was +1. We had a reactive layer down 35cm this layer is the Jan 12 crust layer with Surface Hoar on top in the 3mm size. Test results were CTM11 and ECTM17 sudden collapse.
Sled Triggered Avalanches were reported from another group that made it into the alpine.
Have fun and play safe.
