Quartz Creek

mconlan, Wednesday 14th April, 2021 3:55PM

We found dry snow on north aspects above around 1900 m and otherwise moist or wet snow. The slushiest snow was found on steep south facing aspects as the sun warmed them. We found evidence of loose wet avalanches on sun exposed slopes and a few cornice falls, with one or two shallow slabs pulled on the slopes beneath them. We didnt observe any new avalanche activity today, but we probably missed it as our plan was to get out of avalanche terrain early before peak warming. We wouldnt be surprised to see more avalanche activity in the coming days as it only gets warmer.
