Went for a jaunt up the Crags today in variable weather, from scattered skies to completely socked in. Moderate to strong winds of variable directions throughout the day moving the storm snow around quickly at ridgetop.
Went up the ridge to look into the NE chutes off the Crags and was difficult to see through the blowing snow and howling winds. Snow conditions in the chutes looked variable from wind scoured to loaded in different pockets.
The SW and SE aspect was wind-loaded with a 10-15cm F storm slab on the surface that was cracking but not propagated far or running fast. Broke up easily on slope.
Rode open trees from 25-35 degrees. All in all great day with lots of pow laps to be had.
