Quick report
Hope you wore your GREEN today. Warm temps and hard freeze last night created widespread melt freeze crust except on north aspects. E aspects had breakable crust in the morning, turning to soft creamy riding conditions by noon. Dug a couple pits to track the new/old interface, which is gaining strength with these recent melt freeze cycles. This interface is still a concern, especially in wind loaded terrain. Test this interface before riding steep, consequential slopes. Some quick hand shear tests and pits can really provide a lot of insight for this problem.
Snowpack
Dug a couple pits to test the new/old snow interface and analyze any weak layers buried beneath this interface. No propagation in either pit. Buried crusts and facets were bonding well in these locations.
