Quick report
We skied the South Gully in Ammo Ravine on Sunday February 25. The snow surface consisted of wind board with pockets of softer wind blown snow above tree line, transitioning to softer, heavier snow below treeline. While we saw indications of minor wet loose activity, the cold temperatures and relatively shallow layer of softer snow didn't give any major cause for concern. In general the snow seemed quite stable, but with the warming coming this week that could easily change. The ski out was a complete bushwhack back to the Ammo Ravine hiking trail. The stream has lots of open water, forcing us to negotiate the thick vegetation on the side of the stream.
Avalanche
There were indications of minor wet loose activity in the south gully of Ammo Ravine that appeared to have occurred after the most recent snowfall. This activity occurred in the 1-3 inches of soft snow that laid on top of a firmer curst.
