Quick report
At the ravine floor we noticed at least 4 natural avalanches that had occurred during this most recent storm. We followed a skin track up the boulder field below the Sluice and noticed no signs of instability (no shooting cracks, collapsing, etc,). We dug a snow pit below the rock buttress lookers left of Right Gully at 4,780ft at 9:40am. Sky was clear, winds were calm. Boot pen 13cm. Total snow depth was 215cm. Our pit depth was 155cm. We observed ECTP12 Q2 at 30cm from the top, which was a fist hard wind slab (155-125cm). 125-123cm was a pencil hard ice crust. It was very warm in the sun, but didn't notice too much solar gain on the snow surface until we were back on the TRT to Hermit Lake.
