Snowpack
6 A.M. Toured from Little Walker Rd. to little Walker bridge up to 9200’ on Mt. Emerson’s NE aspect. Observed solid surface with little to no punch through. 11 A.M. Pit/E facing slope/ NE aspect/9200’ Results: Snow to 70 cm 70-57cm: Pencil 57- 55 cm: Knife 55-50 cm: 4F 50-Ground: 1F CTX ECTX (top Top 20 cm pulled off with pull of grown man. Traversing South to adjacent open NE facing slope observed small amount of wind loading in trees. 1 P.M.: skiing down observed sun/wind exposed areas below 8700’ having ~10 c.m. Wind Crust
