Frostbite Ridge

This quick walk to the ridge was mostly to stretch our legs and continue our surface inventory with the hopes of snow sometime in the near future. Surfaces were a mix of dusty facets above old firm wind slabs, and soft faceted snow in more wind-sheltered terrain. Last week's snow has faceted and remained soft with the exception of low elevation southlery terrain, which harbors a thin zipper sun crust. On steep solar terrain, radiation recrystallization has formed a thin melt-freeze crust below the soft snow above. On Friday, I found more pronounced rad recrystallization on westerly slopes, where crusts have formed below old wind crusts.
