Quick report
Buckeye Rd is very driveable - there was actually a grader working on it today. Although we considered hiking up the Eagle Creek trail to evaluate the snowpack on high elevation cold aspects, there was too much snow for foot travel and not enough for skis. So we followed Buckeye Creek upstream instead. We only encountered patches of snow in the valley bottom. The snow we touched was mostly strong melt/freeze, but in purely shaded areas it was weak and faceted. From a distance, there was surprisingly decent coverage on SE aspects on Flatiron Ridge, and less surprisingly on cold slopes on Buckeye Ridge (off Hunewill and Victoria Peaks). Access would be difficult without a wheeled vehicle beyond the gate at the campground.
