Quick report

Low angle NW to NE lower elevation trees skied excellently today, a solid 6-7" of light fluffy new snow that was already skiing fast. I dug a pit at 7600 and did an ECT, no propagation. There was a distinct 45cm thick slab at the top of the snowpack that sheared cleanly off of a thick icy/crusty layer underneath, and would be likely more problematic in higher/windier north facing zones.
