Quick report
Went out today with the plan of some pow surfing and mellow skiing. After sledding to the top of the bench in the ski lake basin and parking the snowmobiles, one party member was walking near the trees when the face above released. Slide stopped at the tree line near the flat we were sitting on. Extremely sensitive snowpack, lots of avalanches in this area over the last couple of days. Went out today with the plan of building a small jump onto a mellow landing instead of skiing lines, with the recent activity. After building the jump, one of our party began walking towards the hill to work on the in run of the jump. Just before beginning to ascend the slope from the flat spot of the bench we were at, the slope above released.
Avalanche
