We observed the new snow was falling on a supportable crust and was not exhibiting any slab characteristics during our ascent. No other avalanches were observed on terrain less than 30 degrees. It was a dry-loose avalanche that ran on the old snow/new snow interface. Start zone was about 35 degree and the run out zone 32 degrees. The avalanche ran about 50 feet and was a D1-R1. After triggering, we were able to traverse out to a lower angle slope to continue our descent.
