Avalanche hazards were low in our touring area. Pits earlier in the week did not reveal the persistent weak layers mentioned in other COAC obs. There were very isolated wind slabs that we encountered on the skin track. Very isolated wind loading which led to some small propagating cracks on the skin track. Released slabs up to 20cm thick.

our stretch of overcast cool weather continues, and continues to keep the snow amazing. Perfect day to be out.
Snowpack
45 cm of F to 4F storm snow (series of storms over the past week) riding on top of a firm melt-freeze crust. Below this was a soft layer of unconsolidated melt forms (not facets) which was not reactive to tests back on Tuesday. Didn't bother with CT or ECT today. Hand shear tests were not very reactive (two hands needed to release) on the slopes we skied. Shovel tilt test released some shallow layers (mid-storm interfaces).
