Quick report

Widespread surface hoar observed in protected areas from valley floor to our high point of 3600'. Cold north aspects were loose, unconsolidated faceted snow. Southerly aspects were more supportable but still holding quality snow. Lower southerly aspects that were above the inversion were starting to get light sun affect by afternoon. Previous wind affect on ridgetops ranged from neglible to some areas like top of Grandaddy being completely bare rock. Booting around 3500' on the ridge in the rocks it was easy to punch through the bottom layer of facets. About 1 meter of snow at 3600'. Calm ridgetop winds.
