Quick report
I set out for a quick tour on north facing trees near Mammoth Lakes at 4:15 pm and I was back at my car by 5:50 pm. It was over 40 degrees where I set out and I was surprised by how high the warm up was. The base of the snow at the road was shallower than the last time I went out there but the coverage was good from top to bottom. The warm up did impact the snow. Up top, the sun effected areas were breakable crust but the shaded tree areas were perfect powder. Down lower, the warm up caused breakable crust except for very shaded areas. However, the snow was very stable. The sluff I released at the top did not cause any point releases on a steeper slope. Heavy sluff occurred on steeper section up top but did not set off any point releases.

Snowpack
Snow coverage was good from top to bottom (1,000 ft vertical). Stability was good all around below treeline.
