Quick report
Fear of WMR congestion and avalanches led us to Mount Brown. Skinned from the car and encountered fewer than 10 blowdown obstacles (shoutout to the GNP saw fairy) up to the lookout. Bluebird day — temps and snow warmed up by the afternoon and we experienced some manageable globbing. Measured 15 inches of new snow above the crust in the upper elevations below wind affected ridge. Skied the first 1,500 feet of soft but settling snow before survival skiing began — transitioned to boot packing descent at 5,100 feet. Just good clean fun. Experienced no instabilities but observed surface hoar and some point release avalanches on most southwest aspects in view.
