On North aspect the persistent layer down about 100 had well preserved surface hoar (first photo, in loupe) but unreactive to tests. There was another large surface hoar layer down about 12cm (second photo on screen 15-20mm) within really soft storm snow. Might be of interest with the next storm. South aspect, well consolidated snowpack with no layers of concern noted. Instead of surface hoar there was a 1 cm breakable crust down 8cm that seemed bonded to the snow above. The "crust" layers at the bottom of the pack were actually still moist.
