Incident

Ascending Tszil glacier, first person setting the track to gain a ridge was part way up the slope when it released ~20-30m above him and propagated far across the slope. It slid about 50m and stopped before going off the bench thankfully. Much thicker wind slab than expected -- some parts were 30-50cm thick. One ski and pole were lost and could not be found, no injuries. A person descended on 1 ski. No signs of instability the entire day including just before the avalanche. Sorry for the potato quality photo.
