Paddy Peak area

We rode the mellow N aspect slope south of powder valley. West wind was variable and strong at the top. Alpine snow was wind affected, with a very hard crust in windier areas (near the ridge and higher elevations), and at more sheltered spots mostly a 1" wind crust over about 1' of powder. Treeline snow was powder. We saw evidence of a couple avalanches on the slope across the valley.
