The avalanche in the photo occurred out of terrain, on the lookers right of the Grand Daddy couloir. Started as a small avalanche and entrained mass, triggering the basal layers of the snowpack. Parks Canada Visitor Safety drove the 93N and 93S highways today and observed evidence of natural activity in many areas. Slab, loose dry and deep persistent avalanches were observed, largely out of extreme terrain on both highways, up to size 2.5.
