Type

quick

Coordinates

49.625460, -121.076510

Quick Observation

Northeast slopes on zoa had 10-15cm of low density new snow, with SH growth on the surface on top of a strong crust. No immediately local signs of instability but S facing slopes nearby, and observed from the highway had numerous point releases, as well as several size 1-2 slab avalanches. On steeper aspects, the new snow was not bonding well to the underlying crust which was only noticeable while skinning. Skiing in the bowl was great, the ski out through the trees and down the gas line (S aspect) was very crusty, pretty mediocre.

Avalanche Information

2x size 1.5 observed on SE alpine slope W of Zoa. (on Alpaca, probably) too far to give accurate dimensions.
