Skied STS today. New storm snow from yesterday/overnight has formed a very soft slab 5-15cm thick that sheared easily on the surface hoar. The final approach up Cheops had more wind effect and a few deeper/firmer pockets. Will need much caution with the new loading over the next few days!
We opted to take out the rope and belay/ski cut the entrance to the couloir, where a small cornice has started to form. Once in the couloir the skiing was fantastic, light powder that even came with a free base grind!
